Welcome to Rocks Baptist Church —updated: 30 AUG 2009
Founded near Pamplin in 1772, historic Rocks Baptist Church began sharing a vital faith in the midst of persecution on the banks of Suanee Creek. The stagecoach road that passed by offered a place to dismount from one's horse and gather at the water's edge. In Colonial America, it was illegal to preach without a license from the Congregationalist Church, but faith grew on the banks of the creek, where adult believers were baptized as an expression of their conversion to a vital faith in Christ Jesus. Rocks Baptist Church has changed its facilities, but still stands to witness to the same vital faith of its founding members. We invite you to join us on our journey of faith. The ripples from Suanee Creek in Appomattox County have touched the lives of the current members of Rocks and continue impacting the lives of others in the community and around the world. "Making Ripples for Eternity" is what we are about. As the faith of our forbears has impacted us with their stance under the Lordship of Jesus Christ, so we desire to draw others to this same vitality of faith. Come along with us on this journey of faith! We invite you to be part of something greater than our own lives—the extension of God's rule in the lives of believers everywhere. Join us as we follow the leadership of Christ Jesus, making ripples for eternity, impacting a world in need of a Lord and Savior. —Christopher B. Harbin, former pastor
